How does the Woodpecker Q7 Air purifier work?
STAGE 1 – PRE-FILTER SCREEN
Air flows from the bottom and into the Pre-Filter Screen to collect hair, pet dander, etc.
STAGE 2 – EMITTER WIRES
The Emitter Wires create an electro field that zaps dangerous particles that would be traveling into our lungs.
STAGE 3 – IONIC FIELD
Charged particles are destroyed. Kills bacteria and germs. Third party lab tested and confirmed to kill 99.87% of influenza virus in one hour.
STAGE 4 – COLLECTING PLATES
Charged particles stick to the collecting plates to remove dangerous toxins from the air. The collecting plates are then washed and reused over the course of time.
STAGE 5 – CATALYTIC LAYER
The catalytic layer is the final step in purification process that removes unpleasant odour – keeping your air fresh and pure.
What is TPA Bipolar Technology?
Plasma Air technology produces air rich in positive and negative oxygen ions. The negative ions contain an extra electron while the positive ions are missing an electron resulting in an unstable condition. To re-stabilise, the bipolar ions seek out atoms and molecules in the air to trade electrons with, effectively neutralizing particulate matter, bacteria and virus cells, odorous gases and aerosols, and VOCs.
How Does Plasma Air Technology Compare to other Air Purification Methods?
Plasma Air’s bipolar ionization technology is a superior solution because it proactively treats the air in the occupied space at the source of contamination. Traditional end-of-pipe solutions utilize a reactive “pass-through” or “filtered” approach.
What is a CADR rating?
CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate. In general, this numerical value will show you how much of the specific particles will removed from the air. For example, an air purifier with CADR rating of 300 cfm will clean a room of 300 sq ft much faster than an air purifier with CADR rating of only 200 cfm.
Smoke particles are ultra-fine at 0.1 to 0.3 microns. Dust particles are 0.5 to 3 microns and pollen particles which can be seen with the naked eye are 5 to 11 microns. 1
What size is a Covid19 virus?
Research published in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology reported a Coronavirus particle at 80 to 120 nm in diameter. (2) Woodpecker Q7 Plasma Air Purifier efficiently intercept pollutants at 14.6 nm.
What is the CFM rating?
CFM stands for cubic feet per minute.
What is an ACH rating?
ACH stands for Air Changes per Hour and indicates how many times per hour an air purifier device can exchange the air within a room.
How does Woodpecker Q7 compare to a unit with HEPA filters?
Units with HEPA filters are designed to trap pollutants such as pollen and dust, while Woodpecker Q7 ionic technology destroys the pollutants and eliminate them from the air.
Often a system with HEPA filters will reduce its efficiency as the filter nears changing meaning that pollutants that were once collected can escape back into the air. In addition, at warmer ambient temperature and humid environments can encourage mold and bacteria to grow on the HEPA filter causing unpleasant odour and potentially hazardous waste during the process.
Woodpecker Q7 washable filter solves this problem by creating an easy clean system that is safe and effective. Just wash with detergent and warm water or put in the dishwasher to clean!
CCM (cumulative cleaning mass) is the technical term for how much filth a HEPA could trap before it loses 50% efficiency. For a typical HEPA air purifier, lab researchers have quantified 45 cigarettes smoke would yield failure. To add some perspective, after 440 cigarettes, about 10x more than HEPA’s 45.
Since mold and bacteria like to grow on HEPA filters, you need to replace the filters every 6 months. Woodpecker Q7 Plasma Air Purifier has no replaceable consumables
With the waste crisis on Earth, it is vital that we do our part to contribute to a better planet and a better future. HEPA filters are made of dangerous fiberglass material that is damaging to our environment.
